BDp2 Reshoots: A Production Update From Bill...

Well, they are back at it again with reshoots for Breaking Dawn part 2. This isn’t uncommon at all in the film industry- Director Bill Condon himself addressed a quick updated statement on the Twilight Facebook page address reshoots and the overall progress of the movie.

Hello Twihards!

Greetings from Los Angeles, where we’re hard at work on BREAKING DAWN, PART TWO. It’s truly crazy to think that it’s been a year since we wrapped production in Vancouver, since for those of us in the editing room the work has never stopped.

A film is a lot like a puzzle, with each piece – each shot, no matter how brief – needing to fit exactly with the ones around it. Our Part Two puzzle is finally coming into full view, and in a few weeks we’ll be heading back north to pick up some additional shots – the last tiny missing pieces. We’re not shooting any new scenes or dialogue, just some technical work with some of our cast and stunt actors.

I am really looking forward to being back on set with some of the friends I’ve made on my Twilight journey, like the great Guillermo Navarro, our cinematographer, and his crew. And yes, Rob and Kristen will be there too, to pop in those gold contacts one last time…

I’m excited to report that before too long we’ll have another trailer for you to decode. And wait until you see the first posters — they’re unlike any “Twilight” images you’ve seen before. And then November 16th will be upon us and the final film will be yours!

Until then, have a very happy spring, and I’ll check back in with you soon.

Fire alarm at Mackenzie’s hotel!

As reported by a crew member (Shannon Kook), the entire cast of ‘The Warren Files’ (including Mackenzie Foy) had to be evacuated from their hotel when a fire alarm went off yesterday in the middle of the night!

“Fire alarm. Smoke in the hallways and fire trucks on driveways. Shivers beside confused guests outside. The alarm is solved. The sleep idea now old. Restless like I’m 5. The action too soon absolved. Come out and play ! Come out, and play. “I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow ur house down. In shorts? Why not what do u take with u on a fire drill!? Mackenzie brought a backpack. Bring me my cheese and crackers!” said Shannon before tweeting a few pictures.

What a scary moment it must have been! We’re glad to hear they got evacuated quickly and everyone’s safe and sound!

Breaking Dawn part 2 full teaser trailer

The Official Teaser Trailer for The Twilight saga Breaking Dawn part 2 is finally here! It’s been playing (still is) on theaters before The Hunger Games since the past weekend.

We get to see Bella as a vampire, Jacob, and Edward! Unfortunately there is no Renesmee for now, but keep in mind this is only the teaser, so we’ll most likely see Renesmee in the full trailer very soon. There is no official release date for the trailer yet, but following the Twilight trailers tradition, it should premiere during this year’s MTV Movie Awards. In the mean time, check out the teaser trailer below:

What we’ve all been anxious about seeing- Summit has released a 10 second preview of Breaking Dawn part 2! It’s very short, but gives us a taste for the teaser trailer in which will be shown this coming weekend before The Hunger Games movie. And everyone will get a chance to see the teaser trailer next Monday!

NM thoughts:

Other than being way way to short, we loved it! Bella running as a vampire makes us even more excited for the movie. I’m very glad they showed that bit- gives a great perspective to viewers that she is definitely not human anymore, and throughout the short clip the human to vampire differences are being brought out.

First reaction seeing Jacob, “wow! he looks great!” did he not? The line there is perfect! It shows how much Jacob had been questioning Bella’s entire transformation. He wasn’t sure what to expect.

Edward and Bella moment in the clip is just too sweet! Of course we were hoping to see Mackenzie Foy as Renesmee in this clip, but we will have to wait til the preview shown at the Hunger Games movie it looks like!

Miss Mackenzie Foy shot with the talented Dani Brubaker back in 2009, and thanks to Dani and Sammy Mourabit we can share this lovely shoot. The theme of the shoot was “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and Mackenzie got all dressed up as the legendary Audrey Hepburn. Sammy says “Mackenzie is one adorable young actress, very well mannered and knows exactly what she wants. Amongst 13 other young girls, this was one of my favorite.”

Breaking Dawn Trailer news!

A while ago we heard a rumor that the full length trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 would premiere during the theatrical release of The Hunger Games on March 23. Now we know it’s official thanks to the TwilightExaminer. The trailer will be shown on theaters for those who attend The Hunger Games screenings anywhere in the world.

Also, we’ll be getting a 10-second exclusive sneak peek that will premiere on March 20 at 6AM ET, at the Official Twilight Facebook Page. We, the fans, know from years and years of trailer releases and sneak peeks, than 10 seconds can do wonderful things We hope to see a bit of Nessie on it! And if not, the trailer will do its justice!

Hotel Room Oscar Party!

Miss Mackenzie Foy  seems to be having a great time hanging out with her “The Warren Files” movie sisters in North Carolina. They’re celebrating the Oscars right now with an Hotel Room Oscar Party! Check out these adorable pictures Shanley Caswell shared on her Instagram account. All 5 Perron sisters + the youngest kids: Joey, Kyla, and Mackenzie playing dress up. So cute!  :)

Mackenzie Foy – VOGUE Japan

Great news! It’s been a while since we’ve gotten new photoshoot pictures… Well… Mackenzie Foy is featured in the April issue of VOGUE Japan! Kenzie looks absolutely gorgeous and SO grown up. I’m loving her outfits and I especially love the pic where she’s holding a heart shaped globe. So cute!

Unfortunately, the magazine is not on stands yet, so all we were able to find was a low quality scan :( Hopefully HQ versions of this shoot will be released soon and we’ll be sure to share them with you.  This issue comes out the last week of March; so if you’re a Japanese fan, be sure to get your copy!

The Warren Files Begins Filming!

Mackenzie Foy‘s new movie “The Warren Files” has been reported to begin filming this week in Wilmington, North Carolina.

OLV and StarNews have reported the production’s been building a replica of the original Perron’s house since earlier this year. Filming was expected to start by the end of February, and it seems the cast is already on location as Shanley Caswell (who plays one of Mackenzie’s sisters) tweeted a picture of some cast members in Wilmington this past Sunday. Open casting calls for extras are taking place in the area as well, and the actors are scheduled to work starting this week to mid April.

There isn’t a lot of news on the story itself, except “The story was inspired by paranormal events which took place in a Rhode Island farmhouse. The events were investigated by Ed and Loraine Warren who helped the home’s owners, the Perron family, battle the spirits.” Mackenzie’s character name is also unknown at the moment; all we know is that she will be starring as one of the Perron kids.

We wish the cast & crew a Happy Filming, and we’ll keep you updated when new information is available!

We’ve finally found a HD copy of Mackenzie Foy’s episode of The Haunting Hour  “The Return Of Lily D”. As you already know, the episode originally aired a few days ago, but we couldn’t find any version in good quality till now. Thanks to Xmodracer1 on Youtube, we can finally share the HD version with everyone! Mackenzie did such a wonderful job as Natalie, and the scary feel of it perfectly suits Renesmee. Great episode! Breaking Dawn: The making of Renesmee

Check out this interesting article where Trevor Hogg chats with visual effects supervisors John Bruno, Phil Tippett, Edson Williams and Bruce Woloshyn about the making of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and they speak about the making of Renesmee, and the CGI work used to create the illusion of having an 18-year-old Renesmee for Jacob’s flash forward scene:

Lola VFX also digitally manipulated the face of the newborn baby. “Renesmee was based on the performances of over 30 babies captured using the Lola projection rig,” remarks Edson Williams. “We ended up using small bits and pieces of about 5 of these babies to created the final look, like a patchwork quilt Franken Baby. The eyes were CG and based on the actual eyes of baby Kristen Stewart.”

A CG baby was created for the scene at the fireplace when Jacob does his imprinting; he looks into the future and sees her age into a grown woman. The revelation sets up a key plot point for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012). “All the Renesmee shots are based on a 10-year-old actor named Mackenzie Foy, this proved challenging when we had to make this 10-year-old look 18,” states Williams. “To accomplish this task, we shot an 18-year-old model running though a park, and then captured Mackenzie’s performance in the Lola Projection Rig. Using Flame software, we modified Mackenzie’s facial featured to look much older, and then modified a CyberScan of Mackenzie to match the older proportions created in the Flame.

The older looking Mackenzie image was projected onto the older looking Mackenzie 3D geometry, and then this combined data set was tracked onto the model running thru the park. To create an accurate representation of a future Mackenzie, we used the same techniques used to find missing children. It was fun trying to guess what a child would look like in 8 years, and these were the most enjoyable shots we worked on. In 8 years we get to find out how accurate our 18-year-old Mackenzie shot really is.”

Thanks to Kate, we have three new/old untagged pictures from the Ralph Lauren campaign Mackenzie shot in 2007. Just look at her baby face; she was the cutest little girl ever, wasn’t she?

We’d also like to remind everyone this Friday (February 10th) a teaser trailer for Breaking Dawn part 2 will be released at Target stores all around the USA. We might be getting a little sneak peek of Renesmee, since she’s a key character in part 2. How exciting?! The event will be starting at midnight at selected Target stores, in celebration of the DVD release of Breaking Dawn part 1, where we also get to see a little bit of Nessie through Jacob’s vision! Happy Breaking Dawn week! 

Mackenzie books a new movie “The Warren...

This is TOO EXCITING for words! Mackenzie has booked a new feature film, again! She just signed with New Line Cinema to star in the upcoming Horror film “THE WARREN FILES”. All we know about the movie is that it tells the story of two detectives who decide to investigate  the Perron family, a family who claimed they “lived among the dead” as spirits (both friendly and sinister) inhabited their Rhode Island farmhouse. Mackenzie will be playing one of true-life kids of the Perron family, meaning she’ll be getting a good amount of screen time! An interesting fact is that the story plays in the 70‘s, so we’ll be seeing lots of fancy costumes and sets.

Mackenzie will be working with an amazing cast, including Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson (as the investigators), Lilli Taylor and Ron Livingston (as the Perrons), and 12-year old Joey King (as the other Perron kid). As for the crew, the screenplay is by Chad and Carey Hayes, produced by Peter Safran and Tony DeRosa-Grun, and will be directed by James Wan. Such a wonderful cast!

Shooting for “The Warren Files” is scheduled to start February 21 in North Carolina, same place Mackenzie shot “Plastic Jesus”.

The Haunting Hour – Full Episode

Hey everyone, so sorry for the delay on uploading the episode. Truth is someone uploaded a low quality version to Youtube this morning and we were waiting to get the HD version to post, but it seems it might take a while for the HD version to be online, so this is all we have for now. However, we WILL update with HD clips as soon as they’re online, so check back later!

Mackenzie did a phenomenal job as Natalie. The episode is the best one from the 2nd season, and she blew me away with her performance! At first she’s this sweet little girl, and by the end of the episode you can tell she’s gotten so brave! I loved seeing Mackenzie on screen one more time She’ll definitely do a great job as Nessie in Breaking Dawn.

Wohoo! Great news! Just a day before Mackenzie’s episode of The Haunting Hour is released (airs Saturday 5pm) we get a brand new interview where she talks a little bit about her character Natalie, getting senior red belt on Tae Kwon Do, painting, and says acting is definitely what she wants to do forever. “This week’s episode of R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour has the opportunity to satisfy two fervent fan bases.

For those rabid Twihards who can’t wait for Breaking Dawn — Part 2 to hit screens later this year, they’ll get another peek at the young actress who plays Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s half-human, half-vampire baby. And for Haunting Hour enthusiasts who were creeped out by Lilly D., the treacherous living doll who previously appeared in the two-part episode “Really You,” they’ll be able to see her in action once again.

In “The Return of Lilly D.,” Mackenzie Foy plays Natalie, a girl who goes to live with her grandparents only to discover that one of the dolls in their collection is alive and filled with evil intentions.

Going up against Lilly D. is no easy task, as another rising young star, Bailee Madison, learned the first time around. She has a way of committing terrible acts that hurt people while laying the blame on her owner, who tries in vain to convince those around her that the doll is actually alive.

Mackenzie thinks her character is up to the challenge, however. “Natalie is a sweet girl who loves to care for others, but if you mess with them, watch out!” the 11-year-old says.

Between this role and her high-profile turn in Twilight, Mackenzie is showing a flair for playing the supernatural. It’s an arena she enjoys, she says, because “it’s fun to be scared.” She’s already decided that acting is “absolutely what I want to do forever,” and that she hopes to eventually go into producing and directing.

In the meantime, however, Mackenzie says she is able to separate “work mode” from her regular life by pursuing her interests in painting, reading and Tae Kwon Do, a martial arts discipline for which she has earned the rank of senior red belt. Perhaps that’s appropriate right about now, as in Tae Kwon Do, the red belt is supposed to signify the color of blood.”

So excited to share this with you guys! The TV preview for R.L Stine’s The Haunting Hour episode “The Return of Lilly D” is here!

Mackenzie plays a little girl named Natalie who lives with her grandparents and she discovers these creepy old dolls are alive! Mackenzie looks SO grown up, yet adorable as always. Her acting has improved a lot since the last time we saw her on Hawaii Five-O and this is a total different character for her. I can’t wait to watch the full episode and have miss Mackenzie back on screen!

The episode airs this Saturday (February 4th) at 5pm on the Hub channel. So if you’re in the USA be sure to tune in!

Just a little update to let everyone know that thanks to MM we now have the release date for Mackenzie’s episode of The Haunting Hour “The Return Of Lilly D”, it will air on Saturday, February 4th.

How exciting? I’m really looking forward to this episode. Many talented young actresses such as Jodelle Ferland and Bailee Madison have been part of this new season of The Haunting Hour series, and I’m sure Mackenzie will do a wonderful job.

BooBoo: Does Mackenzie have a nickname for me? She was so funny, and I got to hang around her a lot. At our hotels, we were literally neighbors, so we’d always go to lunch and they took us on a hike that was pretty awesome. Actually I’m cleaning my room today. She loves to draw, and she’s really good at it, and I love to draw too so we’d draw each other pictures. She drew me this picture that I found in my room that I’m going to hang up today.

Mackenzie Foy: 11-year-old actress who plays the coveted role of Bella and Edward’s child Renesmee in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn; part two of which comes out on November 16. She is also set to star in Plastic Jesus with Hilarie Burton.

Meet baby Renesmee!

Meet baby Ava Jolie Mayeux, who played baby Renesmee in The Twilight saga Breaking Dawn part 1. Isn’t she adorable? You can definitely tell they’ve done some basic CGI work on her to make her resemble Mackenzie even more.

Ava was hired as an extra to appear in the box-office smash, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1,” which was filmed partly in Baton Rouge in 2010. But Ava was no ordinary extra. The film’s main character Bella Swan, played by actress Kristen Stewart, becomes pregnant in the film after marrying vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen, played by actor Robert Pattinson. After Swan gives birth to the baby, there is a scene near the end of the film where Swan’s trusted friend Rosalie, played by actress Nikki Reed, holds the infant. That was Ava’s big close-up. Or at least, as her mother Christina James said, her big profile. “You can definitely see it’s her in the scene,” James said.

Ava was not just new to the world of big budget Hollywood movies. She was new to the world. Ava was 3 weeks old when the filmmakers shot her scenes as Renesmee Cullen in Baton Rouge in December 2010, James said. Her mother said she initially did not want to apply online for her daughter to become an extra in the film and felt uncomfortable sending in photos of Ava to the casting officials. However, James’ friend, Jennifer Lemons of Baton Rouge, kept pushing her to apply and send Ava’s pictures to the casting officials. Lemons works for Active Entertainment LLC at Celtic Media Studio, where the Baton Rouge filming took place, she said. “I wound up sending Ava’s pictures in just to see if they would even respond,” said James, a 19-year-old freshman at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. The casting agents emailed back the next day saying they wanted to hire Ava, her mother said. “I was shocked; then I started to get excited,” James said.

Ava was involved in one day of filming in Baton Rouge from noon to 6 p.m., her mother said. Ava, her mother and great-grandmother, Sandra James, were all on the set that day in December. Sandra James said the family was treated like royalty. “Everything was perfect. It was cold at the time of filming but they always had a warm van waiting for Ava if she needed to be taken somewhere,” Sandra James said.

The Ascension Parish women met and briefly talked to the film’s director, Bill Condon. They also met Reed, who held Ava in the film. “She (Nikki Reed) came into a trailer with us to talk. She was very nice,” Christina James said. Reed told the women she wanted to spend some time with Ava before shooting the scenes to bond and make sure the actress and the baby were comfortable with each other, Sandra James said. “I think they bonded right away. She (Reed) looked like she had held babies before and looked very comfortable,” Sandra James said.

Reed told E! Online reporters Ted Casablanca and John Boone in November that the real baby she worked with on the film was ‘great” and “didn’t cry much.” Ava was very safe during the entire experience, she was able to sit near her baby at all times and she would love to do it all again, Christina James said. Ava’s father, Tyler Mayeux, is also proud of his daughter and her accomplishment, James said. Sandra James said she has thought about the fact that millions of people all over the world have seen Ava. “It’s kinda cool. This is something she (Ava) is going to be able to tell her children and grandchildren about one day. It’s a great story,” Sandra James said.

Mackenzie Foy to appear in The Haunting Hour

Mackenzie Foy seems to be on a roll! After her big Breaking Dawn experience she’s been booking roles non-stop: first the AT&T commercial, the Indie film Plastic Jesus, and she has recently booked and shot an episode of R.L. Stines, The Haunting Hour. She will be playing the role of Natalie in episode #2.18 ‘The Return of Lilly D’ which is due to air in the new year. Well done, Mackenzie!

Have yourself a Merry little ‘Twilight-Mas&...

For the past year I have been working on ideas and ornaments for a Twilight themed Christmas Tree. Below I will post a few of my hand-painted ornaments, as well as some ideas (for the crafty and not so crafty Twilight fans out there).

First, start with a tree!!

I chose a White tree, but the reasoning for this was because I had a lots of Black ornaments that were painted and I wanted them to stand out. A green tree will work just fine- if you can find a black or white Christmas tree to decorate than go for it!!

Next, find your style!

I am a fan of bulbs, so I chose to decorate my tree with black, silver, and red bulbs (all of these are plain/ some w sparkles). Then I started to add the other ornaments that I made, or bought that rang the theme “Twilight” in my head when I bought them

Ideas for your Twi-mas Tree

• Silver Volvo
• The Twilight and Eclipse Hallmark Ornaments
• Feather ornaments (I’ve noticed lots of these this year in places like Hobby Lobby!)
• Toy wolves (hammer in a nail and tie a pretty bow around it to hang)
• Picture Frame (something that looks aged) w a Bella/Edward wedding picture.
• Red Ribbon
• Apples!!
• Clear ornaments filled with white or black feathers. (you can write quotes from Breaking Dawn on these as well)
• A dream catcher
• Chess pieces
• Bella’s 1953 red Chevy (last time I looked on Amazon they still had toy ones left.)
• A cottage key! (found a cute Key ornaments at WalMart for a dollar)
• Team Edward/ Team Jacob ornaments (I painted mine, but they have lots of these at CafePress too!)

I could go on and on with ideas, but these are just a few things that are on my tree. I also have black beads draped over the branches and the Red Ribbon I mentioned above is used as the bow for the top of the tree. I used lots of wire and beads to add a little more color to a few items. Ex: the silver Volvo I added a loop of beads so that I could hang the car on the tree.

Who wouldn’t want to stare at Edward throughout the holidays? especially when he’s in a Santa Hat and a scarf! lol

Hope these little tips will give you some ideas or inspiration to start on your own Twilight Christmas Tree! And don’t worry if you can’t paint or don’t want to get crafty, there are lots ornaments that could be used if you just keep your eyes open!

Mackenzie Foy donates to St. Jude

Youngest Twilight star, Mackenzie Foy (who plays Renesmee Cullen in Breaking Dawn) has received wonderful praise from her co-stars over these past few months. They all agreed “She is sweet, adorable, really smart and stealing the cast’s hearts right and left“. 

The ‘smart‘ part doesn’t exactly refer to little Mackenzie being a straight A student (although she actually is one), but to the fact she was so professional and mature on set that she “made every adult there want to be a better adult”. Being on set for the first time, surrounded by adults working on a highly anticipated feature film, must be a challenging experience for a 10 year old actress. And, again, I’m not referring to the long shooting hours or the adult talking going on. I’m talking about the swearing.

It all started when actor Guri Weinberg suggested she should bring a Swear Jar to the Breaking Dawn set. “As anyone on set can tell you, the adults were very partial to a few swear words. Mackenzie was unimpressed. I jokingly told her she should incorporate a cursing jar on set and make people pay up every time they cursed in front of her. She not only did it, she cleaned up. She’s Bill Gates in a 10 year old’s body” says Guri. Her co-star Robert Pattinson also said “ She’s earned a lot of money out of us swearing around her”. 

When Mackenzie finally got asked about the infamous ‘Swear Jar’ she proudly admitted: “ Yes it is true! They’d say some bad words and I put it on this little bucket called ‘Swear Jar’.” People tend to assume Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were the ‘worst’ ones, but Mackenzie made sure to defend her on-screen parents and clarify it wasn’t just them:  ”Well, it wasn’t just Kristen and Rob, I mean, they said some bad words too, but it was like everybody said a bad word once or twice. They all swear pretty equally, I don’t actually know who’s the worst. They’d just go ‘Sorry, here you go’ And then it just started getting a little bit more and more so I just got a jar called ‘The Swear Jar’ and I left it on set.”  How much would they throw in there? “Hmm well, I have prices. Sometimes it’d be $3, sometimes it’d be $1. Depending on the word!” says Mackenzie between giggles.

Many of you must be wondering how much money she’s earned, and what she’s done with it. Any other child might want to spend the money for themselves, but miss Mackenzie donated all the Swear Jar money she got from the Breaking Dawn Set to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. “I don’t know how much there was, I can’t recall it. But I got a lot and I donated it all to St. Jude.” It’s amazing to hear this brilliant little girl is proving the world she has talent and, most importantly, one giving little heart.
